NMU names Gemignani full-time ass’t golf coach

MARQUETTE — Head coach Ben Johnson of the Northern Michigan University golf teams has promoted Tom Gemignani to being a full-time assistant coach.
A part-time coach with these Wildcats teams in the 2024-25 season, Johnson said one of Gemignani’s unique skills is in sports psychology.
“(Tom) really helps our athletes with the mental side of the game and how to approach it, which is going to be extremely beneficial,” Johnson said in an NMU Sports Information news release about the promotion. “I believe our entire team will … learn from him as we continue to grow and move in the right direction.”
He is listed on the NCSA College Recruiting website as working in mental performance space since 2017.
Gemignani was listed as having a master’s of science degree in performance pyschology from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and is a certified mental performance consultant through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.
It also mentioned that he contracted as a mental performance specialist for the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division.
