K.I. SAWYER — Tom Laitinen proved its never too late to achieve something for the first time.

The 82-year-old Gwinn resident recorded his first-ever hole-in-one on Aug. 14 at the Red Fox Run Golf Course at Sawyer.

Playing in the Thursday Evening Couples League, he aced the 123-yard 12th hole using an 8-iron.

Witnesses to the maybe-not-once-in-a-lifetime feat were Kay Ghiardi, Linc Marshal and Minda Marshal.
