ESCANABA — A team made of VanDammes successfully defended its title at the third annual Soo Line Steam Engine #730 golf scramble fundraiser held June 27 at the Escanaba Country Club.

The winners, who were sponsored by the Community Foundation of Delta County, included Bradley VanDamme, Earlene VanDamme, Eric VanDamme and Bob VanDamme, as they shot 59 on the par-72 course.

Special guest golfer was former U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, who flew in from Washington, D.C., the morning of the event.

Proceeds go to support the upkeep and perpetual care of the Soo Line Steam Engine #370, which is located in Gladstone and includes plans for a future welcome center and museum.

A list of numerous sponsors was included by organizers.
