19 NMU hockey players named to CCHA All-Academic Team

MARQUETTE — Nineteen Northern Michigan University hockey players were honored by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association by being named to the CCHA All-Academic Team during the late stages of last hockey season.
Of the 19 Wildcats honored, a dozen were also named to the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Team.
Players from the nine league schools — which includes future full participant Augustana of South Dakota — were named to the All-Academic Team by maintaining a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. To make the Scholar-Athlete Team, these same players needed a GPA of at least 3.5.
Over the CCHA’s nine schools, there were 164 student-athletes named to the CCHA All-Academic Team, which included 103 on the CCHA Student-Athlete Team.
Each of the nine schools had between 11 and 22 students named to the All-Academic Team, led by Minnesota State-Mankato with 22, while Michigan Tech had 21 and St. Thomas and Ferris State each had 20.
