The team, known as the Northstars, will play at 3 p.m. — an hour later than previously announced — against the Wisconsin-La Crosse club team at the Wright Street field near the NMU campus at the corner of Wright and Lincoln streets in Marquette, according to team member and spokeswoman Emily Chrostowski.
The team was formed in 1994 and has won several tournaments over the years around the Midwest and even been a runner-up in national tourneys.
A member of the Great Waters Women’s Rugby Conference that includes squads from the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin, the Northstars have a volunteer coach in Tina Nesberg, who played for the team in the 1990s.
The Northstars already have a 3-1 record this fall, most recently defeating Michigan Tech 51-24 on Oct. 7. Their main tries, a five-point play similar to a touchdown in American football, were scored by Sam Pizzo, Michaela Gleason, Jada Price-Williams and Ginny Harris.

Earlier games included a 48-12 win over Marquette University and 17-12 victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point along with a 30-7 loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The team has held several fundraisers in Marquette to support the team and its travel expenses, including bagging groceries at Super One Foods and running orders at Culver’s restaurant on certain days.
Chrostowski said fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as there aren’t stands or bleachers at the field, along with such amenities as blankets.
