CHANNING — Starting pitcher Doug Carlson allowed just two runs in four innings to give his Marquette County Mavericks’ offense a chance to take over in a 13-2 victory at the Channing Railroaders in a Superiorland Baseball League game played Monday.

In the league’s second week of the season, Mavericks reliever Jacob Adriano blanked the home team over the final three innings.

Parker Maki paced the Mavs’ offense with three hits, four RBIs and a run scored, while information wasn’t available on the Railroaders.

In another game that evening, Mikey D’s Beer Cave of Escanaba won 14-4 over Hubbard’s Marsh The Band of Negaunee in a game played in Gwinn.
