Christine Jarvi, Bella Nora, Ecko Popps support Eagles’ winning hurler Terri Axford in win over Willey’s Tire Shop in a Class C game of the Iron Range Women’s Softball League

ISHPEMING — Christine Jarvi smacked a triple and double while going 4 for 4 with an RBI to lead the Eagles past Willey’s Tire Shop 13-12 in a Class C game in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on Wednesday.

Teammate Bella Nora also went 4 for 4 with an RBI, while Ecko Popps was 3 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs in support of winning pitcher Terri Axford.

Willey’s Amy Williams went 3 for 3 with a homer and two doubles, while Jamie Zaleski was 4 for 4 with a double.

Also in “C,” Mallory Shank homered and Madison Pruett tripled to aid winning hurler Mollie Pruett as Palomaki Family Chiropractic adjusted to a 23-8 win over U.P. Fabricating, whose Val Prusi homered and Maggie Johnson tripled.

In Class A, LeAnn Saarela went 5 for 5 with a triple and teammates Taylor Oakland and Brittany Singer both homered as Jasper Ridge Brewery cranked out a 33-4 win over Jack’s Teepee, whose Megan Alderton and Amanda Lotterman each had triples.

Also in “A,” Mandy Meyer was 3 for 4 with a homer and Charissa Johnson 3 for 3 with a double as Screened Image bopped Martin Sports 24-11.

Martin’s Ashley Kind went 2 for 3 as teammate Jess Harper was cited for a good defensive game.

Morgan Carlson homered, Kenzie Karki tripled and Kelsi Gustafson collected two RBIs as River Rock pounded out a 21-9 victory over LaCosse & Associates, which got a triple from Jordan Kowalski and doubles from Nicole Johnson and Alexis Kainulainen.

Winning pitcher Kerry Tornberg got great offensive support as Congress Pizzas blew up for a 46-11 triumph over Pineshears, whose Tia Mattila and Kathy Johnson both doubled.

Good team hitting was credited for Buck’s Party Store-Barrel & Beam pumping out a 26-5 win over Dave’s Collision, whose Libbie Doney and Arica Altabello each tripled.

In Class B, Kara Clisch hit two homers and teammates Amber Salo, Chelsea Belanger and Miranda Roose hit one roundtripper apiece as Tino’s cruised to a 32-14 win over Paradise Bar.

Salo also hit a triple as Paradise’s Mariah Heard bopped a pair of homers, Abby Koski and Hailey Hytinen hit one each and Rachel Hytinen went 5 for 5.

Shelly Rice went 5 for 5, Sandy Carlson 4 for 5 and Leah Dompierre added a pair of triples as Signs Unlimited took a 24-11 win over Cedar Saunas, whose Katie VanBuren was 3 for 4 and Emma Tuskey 2 for 3.

Joanna Small was 4 for 4 with a triple and Becky Moyle 3 for 3 with a double as Quality Car Care posted a narrow 9-7 win over Cognition, whose Karlie Kargela homered and Jen Laurila tripled.

Eliina Miilu and Cheryl Kuzak each were 2 for 3 with two RBIs as Pasquali’s snuck out a 9-8 victory over Globe Printing, which got a homer from Cassidy Krueger.
