Chris Rhoades wins Red Fox Open golf tournament for 5th time

K.I. SAWYER — Chris Rhoades captured his fifth Red Fox Open championship held recently at the Red Fox Run Golf Course at K.I. Sawyer.

Rhoades won the 22nd annual event that was held over two days with 36 holes of medal play. There were 33 entries this year.

Rhoades shot 146 for his two 18-hole rounds as Pat Daley was runner-up with 148 and Tyler Bergwall was third with 149, all coming in the championship flight.

Matt Jennings won the first flight by an impressive 10 strokes after totaling 156 compared to 166 for both runner-up Ryan Myer and third-place Evan Haske.

In the senior division, Jim Caywood won by a whopping 25 strokes after shooting 143. Buryl Smith was second with 168 as Steve Mattson came in third with 172.
