Wyble, an All-Upper Peninsula kicker and punter while at Marquette, has assumed the same roles with the Huskies.

On Saturday at Wayne State, Wyble made the game-winning 26-yard field goal to lift MTU to a 30-27 victory and moved the Huskies above .500 at 3-2 to go with a 2-0 GLIAC mark.

He finished making all three of his field goal tries and the same number of extra points, booting a 26-yard field goal early in the second quarter and a 35-yarder just before halftime that kept the Huskies within 20-13 at the break.

Wyble also averaged 61.3 yards on six kickoffs, while punting for an average of 46.3 yards per boot, twice pinning Wayne State inside its 20-yard line that gives him five such punts this season. His longest punt Saturday was 60 yards.

For the season, Wyble is 5 of 6 on field goals and 12 of 13 on extra points, with his only field goal miss in his first game this season and his extra-point miss a blocked kick in the team’s second game. He ranks second in the GLIAC in field goals and fourth in extra points.

Wyble will return home at noon Saturday when Tech visits Northern Michigan University for the Miners Cup. The game will be televised on WLUC-TV6.
