The Marquette team won the District 11 championship in the Minor League tournament of Little League baseball in Marquette earlier this month. The team had to play seven games in seven days after losing its second game, but won its other six games to capture the title, including an 11-10 victory over Penokee Range in the championship contest. Preston Cromell was the winning pitcher in the game.

Team members are Cromell, Cadan Ritari, James Anderson, Camden Reed, Jonah Scott, Waylon Houle, Rudy Orlich, Easton Jezewski, Tyler Goodwin, Nathan Chapman, Callon Mason and Levi Laitinen. Coaches are Shane Cromell, Rob Goodwin and Brad Jezewski.

Midland Northeast defeated Marquette 14-0 in the state tournament played at Marion Park in Norway on Frdiay. Marquette also played Greater Bay of Bay City on Saturday and downstate Schoolcraft on Sunday afternoon.
