Skyline Central Conference honors in baseball, softball

EBEN — The Skyline Central Conference handed out its baseball and softball awards recently and some local players were some of the honorees.

For baseball, Superior Central was named co-champion of the SCC along with Norway. Kyle Frusti, Parker Maki, Mathew McLaury and Hayden Rockhill were named to the all-conference teams, while Dakota Maki was an honorable mention.

In softball, SC finished third in the conference and Munising took fourth. Three Cougars made the SCC team, while two Mustangs filled slots. Madisyn Tyner, Shae Lampinen and Stella Charlebois represented SC, while Maci Cornish and Kristin Riley were Munising’s honorees. Munising’s Rose Syers was an honorable mention selection.

Bark River-Harris’ Nick Javurek was named the baseball Player of the Year, and Norway’s Kali Stanchina was the POTY for softball.
