Finlandia’s Paavo Nurmi Center to reopen to general public

HANCOCK — The Paavo Nurmi Center at Finlandia University in Hancock will reopen to the general public starting Monday.

The athletics building had been open only to Finlandia students, staff and faculty due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Individuals using the building must follow guidelines established by the state of Michigan and Finlandia. They include signing in with name, phone number and temperature check, social distancing and wearing masks whenever in the building.

The building will be open through July 2 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Access will not be granted on weekends. These hours and guidelines are subject to change and officials at the university will re-evaluate them for beyond July 2 at a later date.

Complete guidelines are posted on the doors at Paavo Nurmi and are on the athletic website at school’s website at https://fulions.com/sports/2016/1/13/GEN_Strength_Center.aspx?id=73.
