Negaunee grad Mason Granger to play football at Finlandia

HANCOCK — Finlandia University announced Monday that Mason Granger of Negaunee has committed to play football and attend the school.

The 2018 Negaunee High School graduate plans to major in nursing, according to a news release from Finlandia Sports Information.

He is a transfer from Northern Michigan University.

At Negaunee, he was part of a 10-1 team that qualified for the MHSAA Division 6 playoffs in the fall of 2016.

He was also on the Miners’ track and field team, where he qualified for the U.P. Finals in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles events.

“We’re very pleased to add another U.P. product to our program,” Finlandia head coach Mike DuFrane said. “Mason comes from an outstanding program in Negaunee where his championship attitude will be a great attribute as we go forward together.”
