Finlandia men’s basketball team falls to 0-3
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Two area juniors at Finlandia University contributed in the Lions’ men’s basketball team’s 112-62 loss at Coe College on Sunday.
Sophomore Joe Heinonen, a Superior Central High School graduate, scored five points while pulling down three rebounds and making a steal, while sophomore River Shumate of Republic-Michigamme had a rebound and assist in eight minutes court time.
Finlandia (0-3) was scheduled to play at Lakeland College in Plymouth, Wisconsin, on Tuesday before traveling to North Central in Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon.
