Marquette’s Adam Hamari named playoff replay umpire
NEW YORK (AP) — Marquette native Adam Hamari has been named a replay umpire for Major League Baseball’s divisional series round this week.
Hamari, who has been umpiring in the major leagues for around a decade and became a full-time MLB umpire in 2017, is one of four umpires working out of the commissioner’s office in New York when replays are called for during games. He was to be joined by fellow umps Brian Knight, D.J. Reyburn and Carlos Torres.
Mark Carlson, Jerry Meals, Bill Miller and Mark Wegner are crew chiefs for the Division Series, the commissioner’s office said Monday. Division series umpires are eligible for selection for the World Series.
