K.I. SAWYER — It may be getting rather late in an Upper Peninsula golf season, but it wasn’t too late for a rather unusual feat to be pulled off at the Red Fox Run Golf Course over the weekend.

The course recorded not one, but two holes-in-one on the same day at the same hole.

Both Denise Nurkala and Aaron McNeill got their first aces on the fourth hole on Sunday.

Playing at 90 yards for each of them, Nurkala used an 8-iron and McNeill a sand wedge for their holes-in-one, according to course general manager Geno Parlato.

McNeill also reported a score of 87 for his 18-hole round.

Nurkala’s feat was witnessed by Bryan Nurkala, Lisa Gormley and Niles Lefebvre, while McNeill was witnessed by Sue McNeill.
