Northern Michigan University’s PEIF Recreation Center reopens for members Monday

MARQUETTE — The Campus Recreation center located within the PEIF — officially known as the Physical Education Instructional Facility — at Northern Michigan University will reopen with limited capacity and amenities on Monday.

As part of Phase I of their reopening plan, only individuals with a current membership will be able to access the facility.

Members will be required to wear masks when entering, exiting and moving throughout, though they will not need to wear masks while actively exercising.

Members must provide membership ID for admittance and are encouraged to come to the facility “rec ready,” meaning to bring workout clothing, equipment, water and attire needed to exercise as some amenities will not be provided.

The PEIF Pool, climbing wall and Fit Zone will reopen at later dates.

For more information on these policies, visit online at www.nmu.edu/recreation or visit NMU Rec Sports on social media.
