Marquette Golf Club, Wawonowin Country Club name club champions

MARQUETTE — Kenn Hruska and Jack Kershasky captured titles in the Senior Club Championship held at the Marquette Golf Club, while Karen Plaisier retained her Women’s Club Championship at Wawonowin Country Club in Champion recently.

Marquette Senior Club
With match play held a weekend ago and ending last Monday on the club’s Greywalls course, Hruska defeated Tom Robinson 1-up in the finals of the championship flight in the Senior Division, while Jack Kershasky needed 19 holes for the same score against Ron Maki for Super Seniors.
Hruska won his second Senior title in the past three years. In other Senior Division flights, Robert Luke won the first flight, Kevin Salmela the second, Bob Christian the third, Rick Hartzell the fourth and Mike Grimes the fifth.

Among Super Seniors, Mike L’Huillier won the first flight and Peter LaCombe the second.

Wawonowin Women’s
Held over two days, Plaisier retained her title during the match play, defeating Diane Frustaglio in the finals on Aug. 16.
Other flight winners were Nikki Whitford in the first flight, Mary Aho in the second and Cheryl Melka in the third.
