Michigan-Wisconsin tennis scheduled

ESCANABA — With tennis considered one of the easier sports to conduct social distancing, organizers of the 73rd annual Michigan-Wisconsin Tennis Open still plan to hold their tournament the weekend of Aug. 1-2 in Escanaba.

Deadline to enter with payment is Friday, July 24, with a determination of whether the event will be held to be made by July 26. If it is canceled, all player fees will be refunded, but if not, entrants receive a T-shirt included in their entry.

Singles costs $18 per person and doubles is $22 per duo. Singles will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, and doubles the following day.

Information about obtaining an entry form is available by calling Denny Lueneberg at 786-2207 or the Escanba Civic Center at 786-4141, or emailing the Civic Center at recreation@escanaba.org. The Civic Center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
