HANCOCK — Conference championship tournaments have been suspended for fall sports due to the coronavirus pandemic in the Capital Athletic Conference, the league that Finlandia University of Hancock joined this spring.

The fall sports suspension affects the Lions in volleyball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer.

“This was tough, but the right decision to make at this time,” Finlandia athletic director Curtis Wittenberg said. “The welfare of our campus and local community has to come first during these times.”

No announcement was made about the Lions’ football program, which is not part of the CAC.
