Ryan Farley, Dan Ellis win best ball tournament at Wawonowin Country Club, Iron Mountain quartet take Marquette Golf Club women’s scramble

CHAMPION — The duo of Ryan Farley and Dan Ellis won the overall championship by a single stroke at the Two-Man Best Ball Invitational golf tournament held at Wawonowin Country Club on June 13-14.

They shot rounds of 67 on Saturday and 65 Sunday for a 132 total, while runners-up Jared Koski and Mark Clements held the first-day lead with 63 before adding 70 Sunday for 133.

Quartet wins Marquette Golf Club 4-Women Scramble

The team of Sue Micklow, Karen Plaisier, Becky Cecconi and Linda Uren captured the title at the Marqeutte Golf Club’s 4-Women’s Scramble on June 13 by three strokes.

The quartet, representing Pine Grove Country Club of Iron Mountain, shot 60 as these runners-up shot 63 — Amy Chapin, Linda Lassing, Paxton Johnson and Kaitlyn McKay of MGC.

The field included 104 players placed on 26 teams.

In the first flight, MGC players Jessica Hanley, Erin Wasik, Crystal Anderson and Christine Croney won with 67, while the grouping of Sheetal Ghiardi, Deanna Stien, Brie Rantala and Jessica Jackson were runners-up with 68.
