Luke Mattson scores in Bay men’s basketball loss

ESCANABA — Negaunee sophomore Luke Mattson started and scored three points as the Bay College men’s basketball team lost a 95-64 decision at home to Bryant & Stratton College on Saturday.

Mattson played 17 minutes and added a rebound and an assist.

Ishpeming sophomore Dondre Yohe didn’t score but pulled down two rebounds and made an assist in nine minutes.

The Norse (16-9) grabbed their only lead at 13-12 with 12:07 left in the first half on a pair of free throws by Matt Wagner, though Bay got within 25-24 with 5:55 left in the half on a three-point play by Christian Alexander.

Bryant & Stratton (16-9) led 39-31 at the half, quickly upping it advantage to double digits to start the second half and going up by at least 20 points for good during the final 10 minutes.

The Norse complete their regular season this week with three games on the road. Bay plays at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood at 8 p.m. EST Wednesday, then travels to Chicago this weekend to face Richard J. Daley College on Friday and Harry S. Truman College on Saturday.
