WAUWATOSA, Wis. — Bryant & Stratton College used a 24-5 run to end the first half and held on down the stretch to defeat Bay College 90-80 in a college men’s basketball game played Saturday.

The Norse (16-8) trailed just 23-20 after Negaunee sophomore Luke Mattson followed up an offensive rebound with a layup with 8:33 left in the first half. But the extended run by the home team left Bay trailing 52-28 at halftime.

Bay pulled to within nine points twice in the second half, including at 89-80 with seven seconds left.

Mattson started and finished with four points in 14 minutes of action, making the only two shots he attempted. He also had two assists, a rebound and a steal.

Sophomore teammate and Ishpeming product Dondre Yohe also had two points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.

The Norse have a return engagement with B&S at home in Escanaba at 3 p.m. Saturday.
