Dondre Yohe, Austin Forbes help Bay College men’s basketball team beat Gogebic CC 82-54

IRONWOOD — The Bay College men’s basketball team defeated Gogebic Community College 82-54 on Wednesday to guarantee itself at least one home playoff game in the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association tournament.

The Norse (16-9) and Dakota County (Minnesota) Technical College tied at 3-1 for the best records in regional seeding games, but Bay won a coin flip Friday to earn the top seed in the eastern part of Region 13.

On Wednesday, Ishpeming sophomore Dondre Yohe came off the bench to score 13 points as he made 4 of 6 shots, adding three rebounds and three steals.

And Gwinn freshman Austin Forbes contributed 10 points, making a pair of 3-pointers and four free throws.

Full statistics weren’t available on the Bay website, www.baynorse.com or the Gogebic site, www.njcaa.org.

Bay closes the regular season in Chicago this weekend, as the Norse were set to face Richard J. Daley College on Friday and Harry S Truman College at 4 p.m. EST today.
