Bailey Froberg scores 10 points in Finlandia women’s basketball 72-57 win over Northland

ASHLAND, Wis. — L’Anse junior Bailey Froberg scored 10 points to help the Finlandia women’s basketball team defeat Northland 72-57 on Wednesday evening.

Froberg started and played 25 minutes, adding five rebounds and a steal to her stat line.

Ishpeming sophomore Katie Loman had six points, with 4 of 4 free throws, with six rebounds, three assists, a steal and blocked shot.

Baraga sophomore Carsyn Osterman also started and scored three points, making 3 of 3 free throws, while grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out five assists and making two steals.

And Ishpeming sophomore Mariah Austin scored two points, making both of her free throw attempts, while pulling down a game-high nine rebounds to go with two assists in 19 minutes.

Finlandia, which won its eighth straight to improve to 13-11, turned a 12-6 lead at the start of the second quarter into a big 38-10 advantage by halftime.

Finlandia completes the regular season with a game in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, against Holy Family College at 4 p.m. EST today.
