McGuire, Mannor help Bay women
ESCANABA — A pair of Gwinn freshman each scored seven points to help the Bay women’s basketball team score a 64-52 win over Gogebic Community College on Wednesday.
Trish McGuire started and made 5 of 6 free throws, adding a game-high nine rebounds to go with two assists and a steal, while Brooke Mannor also made 5 of 6 free throws and got two rebounds and an assist.
In addition, Munising sophomore Marissa Ackerman added two points and made three assists as the Norse (13-6) grabbed leads of 18-11 after one quarter and 40-24 at halftime.
Bay travels to Sault Ste. Marie to play the Lake Superior State JV at 5 p.m. Sunday.
