HANCOCK — Sophomore Joe Heinonen scored 10 points and River Shumate three as the Finlandia men’s basketball team lost 86-74 to Holy Family College of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on Sunday.

Heinonen, a Superior Central graduate, started and made a pair of 3-pointers while pulling down six rebounds, making a team-high three blocks and dishing out two assists in 34 minutes playing time.

Shumate, who graduated from Republic-Michigamme, hit a triple in six minutes on the court.

Next up for the Lions (0-16)  is a home game against Wisconsin-Superior at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
