Area players help Bay men win

ESCANABA — Four area players made contributions in limited playing time in an 83-58 victory by the Bay College men’s basketball team over Gogebic Community College on Wednesday.

Munising sophomore Cade Contreras hit a 3-pointer on his only shot attempt to score three points in just three minutes playing time.

Negaunee sophomore Luke Mattson started but only played 11 minutes as he also made his only shot attempt for two points to go with two rebounds and an assist.

Ishpeming sophomore Dondre Yohe had two points, a rebound and an assist in 16 minutes, while Gwinn freshman Austin Forbes didn’t score in just two minutes but did register two steals, a rebound and an assist.

The Norse (13-6) trailed 34-28 at halftime but outscored Gogebic (4-13) by 31 points to take the victory.

Bay plays a pair of games this weekend, hosting Dakota County Technical College at 3 p.m. today and playing at the Lake Superior State JV at 7 p.m. Sunday.
