Bay College women dump Wisconsin-Green Bay at Marinette
ESCANABA — All four area players scored for the Bay College women’s basketball team in its 88-35 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay at Marinette at the Norse gym on Monday night.
Munising sophomore Kelsea Ackerman led the local contingent with eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as she also grabbed a rebound in just 14 minutes action.
Gwinn freshmen Trisha McGuire and Brooke Mannor each scored five points. McGuire added three assists, two steals, a rebound and a blocked shot, while Mannor made the only 3-pointers she attempted and had a steal.
And Munising sophomore Marissa Ackerman scored four points with three steals, a rebound and assist.
Thirteen Norse players scored, led by Haley Trudell with 14 points on four triples.
Using a full-court defense, Bay (4-1) jumped out to a 29-4 lead after one quarter, extending it to 50-13 at halftime as the Norse forced 13 first-half turnovers.
Bay takes to the road this weekend, playing at Milwaukee Area Tech on Friday evening and Harper College in Palatine, Illinois, on Saturday afternoon.
