Bertuccis lead their namesake team

NEGAUNEE — Kinsie Bertucci homered and Kayla Bertucci doubled twice to lead Bertucci Construction to a 23-22 win over U.P. Fabricating in Class C on May 29 in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League.

Loghyn Danis tripled, while UPF’s Jessica Noskey hit a pair of homers and Brianna Salmela went 3 for 3.

Also in Class C, Macey Nault hit two homers to pace Jack’s Teepee in a 35-21 slugfest over Pineshears.

The winners’ Natalee Dobson and Jordann Grigg also homered, while Pineshears’ Chelsey Wunder homered twice as Kathy Lapine and Livvie Wood each went 4 for 4.

Kim Larson was 4 for 4 and Carla Lovern and Amy Young homered in Marquette Embroidery’s 18-13 victory over River Rock Lanes, which got a three-run homer from Jordan Fitzpatrick and a four-bagger from Kaylee O’Connor.

Chastity Ellet went 3 for 3 with two triples while Echo Popps homered and doubled and Amy Bazinette tripled and doubled in the Negaunee Eagles’ 18-3 victory over Willey’s Tire Shop.

Willey’s Miranda Cobb and Ashley Juchemich each went 2 for 2 with a double.

Jess Taylor hit a grand slam homer in OSS’ 28-6 win over Palomaki Family Chiropractic, which saw Krystal Foster go 2 for 3.

In Class A, Angie Judici and Leah Dompierre both went 4 for 4 in Sisters’ 9-8 win over Tino’s. The winners’ Linda Dompierre was 3 for 4, while Tino’s Katie Rankinen hit two triples and Shana Caliguri a double.

Mandie Meyer and Megan Kinnunen each went 4 for 5 in Cognition Brewing Co.’s 20-15 win over Heritage Glove Repair.

Kinnunen doubled twice and Meyer tripled as teammate Terri Tammelin hit a grand slam, Amanda Harlock two doubles and Courtney Waara a double.

Heritage’s Chelsie Wealton and Brandi Logan both were 3 for 4 with Wealton hitting two doubles and Logan a triple. Teammate Abbie Salisbury tripled, while Cassey Sandberg, Ashley Maki and Britney Rovelsky all poked a double.

Mary Niemi was 3 for 3 and Debbie Zummak 2 for 3 with a homer as Buck’s Party Store lambasted Riverside Club 17-2.

Riverside’s Veronica Slone was 2 for 2 and Jordan Kowalski 2 for 3 as Morgan Kowalski doubled.

Jasper Ridge Brewery vs. Screened Image/Venice 2 was postponed.

In Class B, Alana Nuorola tripled and had six RBIs as she and teammate Tamara Wommer each went 3 for 3 in Pasquali’s 9-8 win over Buster’s, which saw Ally Solander, Kennan Marana and Emily DesJardins triple.

Casey Duggan and Cassidy Krueger each went 5 for 6 as Dugan homered and Krueger tripled as Globe Printing felled Dave’s Collision 39-23. The winners’ Trisha Anderson and Amie Axford both went 5 for 5.

Traci Sundberg and Hannah Salmi each went 4 for 4 as Brogie’s upended Quality Car Care 14-6. Teammates Bailey Peterson, Bethany Firby and Bree Ranta had three hits, while QCC’s Gina Debelak and Patty Heslip went 3 for 3 as Connie Kontio had two hits.

Becky Lee was 3 for 3, Gabby Connors homered and Deanna Makela tripled in Venice’s 25-7 victory over Martin Sports.

Heather Smith and Katie Anttonen both went 4 for 5 as Signs Unlimited defeated Paradise Bar 23-9, which saw Jess Harper and Rachel Frederick each go 3 for 4.
