Mongiat, Dudo win at Keto

ISHPEMING – Dan Mongiat and Jack Dudo of Venice won the John Keto Memorial Doubles Tournament held Feb. 16 at the Wayside as part of the Ishpeming Men’s Pool League.

Dan Carlson and Gordy Stone of Wonder Bar were runners-up, while third place went to Mike and Rick Kjellman of Wonder Bar.

The Wonder Bar will host the Darryll Larson Memorial Singles Tournament on Saturday.

In league play on Feb. 13, Tony Norem and Dan Roukalinen of Royal 1 and Paul Richards of Jack’s 1 each had break-and-runs, while Cody Reyes of Jack’s 1 had an 8-ball break.

Wonder Bar doubled up Rainbow 16-8, Jack’s 2 held off Tilden Club 15-9, Jack’s 3 scored a 15-9 win over Royal 2, Royal 1 slipped by for a 14-10 win over Jack’s 1, and Paradise and Riverside tied 12-12.

On Feb. 6, Jay Rosewall of Wayside, Jack Dudo of Venice, Ben Grossoehme of Jack’s 3 and Mike Laurin of Royal 2 all had break-and-runs.

In addition, Dave Pietro of Wonder Bar and Tom Holmstrom of Venice had 8-ball breaks.

Results that night include Royal 1 knocking off Riverside 18-6, Jack’s 1 dumping Wayside 16-8, Tilden Club walloping Paradise 15-9 and three 14-10 scores posted by Wonder Bar over Jack’s 2, Venice over Jack’s 3 and Rainbow over Royal 2.

On Jan. 30, John Jonas of Jack’s 2 and Rick Kjellman of Wonder Bar each had a break-and-run.

Royal 1 scored an 18-6 win over Jack’s 3, Wonder Bar whizzed by Wayside 17-7, Jack’s 1 scored a 15-9 win over Jack’s 2, Venice knocked off Tilden Club 15-9, Rainbow outflashed Riverside 15-9 and Royal 2 edged Paradise 13-11.
