Sometimes picks are quick, sometimes they receive much consideration

It’s awesome to be able to report that Steve Brownlee, the actual Armchair Quarterback, is recuperating nicely from his triple bypass surgery.

In fact, when he provided his picks this week, he was talking while taking a mile long walk. It was chilly, he said, but it felt good to get outside for a bit. He’s progressing, but isn’t quite sure when he’ll be back on the NFL and his other beats — bowling being an important one.

In the interim, I will be sharing his picks and offering mine. Think positive thoughts for our ACQB. He’s working hard to get back on the keyboard again.

Tonight

Green Bay at Seattle: Green Bay played pretty well when hosting the Dolphins last weekend and Seattle put up a heck of a fight vs. the L.A. Rams. Steve’s going with the Seahawks. As much as I want to disagree, we both take Seattle

Sunday

Houston at Washington: Steve did not hesitate in making this pick. For me, it’s a toss up. We both settled on Houston

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville: The Steelers have been rolling and neither of us believe Jacksonville will get back on track against them. We both go with Pittsburgh

Tampa Bay at N.Y. Giants: Steve put it this way: The Giants got their one win for November. Harsh but again, we agree. Tampa Bay

Dallas at Atlanta: Steve quickly said Dallas. I have to choose something different, so I will hope Matty Ice is ready. Atlanta

Cincinnati at Baltimore: This one took our ACQB a bit longer to decide. Both teams have shone at times, but both have also had what-the-heck moments. We both decided to go with Baltimore

Carolina at Detroit: This was Steve’s fastest pick of the week. Without hesitation, he went with Carolina. The Lions have lost three in a row. Will there be a Honolulu Blue and Silver resurgence this week? Probably not. So I, too, say Carolina

Tennessee at Indianapolis: The Titans shocked the world in easily defeating the Patriots last Sunday. Indianapolis won as well, but the Jaguars, who they defeated, are not the Pats. We both are going with Tennessee

Denver at L.A. Chargers: Steve didn’t pause to ponder on this one and I agree. L.A. Chargers

Oakland at Arizona: Anyone excited for this one? We’re both sticking with the home team. Arizona

Philadelphia at New Orleans: And the Saints are marching on. We both agree New Orleans

Minnesota at Chicago: Steve thinks Chicago will take a conference victory. Again, have to go against our ACQB and take a chance on Minnesota

Monday

Kansas City at L.A. Rams: This could be one of the most exciting games of the season between two teams with only one loss. Steve said he has to go with Kansas City but I just have a feeling it’s going to be the L.A. Rams in an epic battle.

Steve’s record last week: 7-7, 50 percent. Steve’s season record: 80-56-2, 62 percent. My record as Backup ACQB: 19-8, 70 percent
