NEGAUNEE — The second annual Upper Peninsula Baseball Championship will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Negaunee Irontown Field.

Set for 2:30 p.m., the game pits the Marquette County Mavericks against the Superior National Bank-Stanton Wildcats.

The Mavericks were the playoff champion of the Marquette County-based Superiorland Baseball League, while the Wildcats were champions of the Houghton County-based Twilight League.

The same two teams met in this game last year in Liminga at Stanton’s home field with the Wildcats prevailing 3-2.
