Eagle Mine wins Cabin Fever tourney title

Marquette Junior Hockey’s Eagle Mine Bantam 14-and-under youth team won the championship at the Cabin Fever Tournament hosted by the Soo Michigan Hockey Association from Jan. 19-21. Eagle Mine won all five of its games, defeating the Mount Pleasant Patriots 8-2, Traverse City K&H Blades 11-1 and Big Rapids Ice Dogs 10-0 in round-robin play before knocking off Traverse City Comfort Center 7-2 in the semifinals and the Soo Builders 5-2 in the finals. Earlier in January, Eagle also won its midseason playoffs in a best-of-three series vs. G&S Roofing, 10-0 and 4-1, to advance to the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association District 8 tournament.
