MARQUETTE — The inaugural “Superheroes on the Run” fun run for superheroes, villains and any other characters will be put on by the Superior Arts Youth Theater Saturday morning along the Lake Superior shoreline in Marquette.

Run lengths include five-kilometer, 10K, and a one-mile kids run, all starting at Lakeview Arena and going north along the bike path twoard Presque Isle Park before turning back. The 5K and 10K runs begin at 9 a.m. with the kids one-mile run at 10:30 a.m.

Superhero apparel is encouraged but not required, with prizes to be awarded for top runners and best costumes.

Fees are $30 for the 5K and 10K and $15 for the kids run. Prices include a T-shirt and “swag” bag, though preregistration before Saturday is required to guarantee receiving a T-shirt on race day. If T-shirts run out, they will be delivered at a later date.
