Northwood taps Jandron
NEGAUNEE – Tony Jandron has been named an assistant baseball/head junior varsity coach at downstate Northwood University.
The Negaunee native has spent the last two years as an assistant at the College of DuPage, a junior college in Illinois. At DuPage, he worked primarily with hitters and outfielders.
Jandron helped the Chaparrals to a 16-game win increase from his first season, finishing (39-20). While there, he helped produce 11 All-Region players and one All-American.
In each season, those teams were nationally ranked in the top 15 in batting average.
As a player at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, Jandron played eight different positions on the diamond. He earned All-Region and All-Conference honors four straight years
Prior to Jandron’s senior season, he competed in the prestigious Northwood’s League under coach Jordan Bischel. Jandron turned in a historical senior season, winning the NCAA batting title, leading the nation with a .511 average.
He was named All-American, region and conference Player of the Year in 2010.
Jandron holds a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Norbert College in Business Administration.
