UNIVERSITY CENTER – Northern Michigan University track athletes Jasmine Williams and Michelle Juergen won events at the Doug Hansen Open Friday at Saginaw Valley State.

Williams won the weight throw on a toss of 58-feet, 1-inch, while Jurgen took the high jump title with a leap of 5-feet, 4.25 inches.

In the sprints, Yasmin Jelassi and Avadon James took second and third place in the 60-meter dash, while Jasmine King finished fifth in the 60-meter hurldes.

During the runs, Paige Dutcher and Shayla Huebner finished fourth and fifth in the 400-meters, while Kameron Burmeister took fourth in the 3,000 meter run.

In the throwing events, Samanthia Johnson took fourth in the weight throw and Ine Mylie finished third in the triple jump.
