Finlandia football gets 1st win
HANCOCK – Finlandia University won its first-ever football game on Saturday, defeating Marantha Baptist 30-14.
Tyler Windahl of Negaunee and Ishpeming made a team-high nine tackles, including one for a loss, while his brother Jordan Windahl had seven that included two quarterback sacks.
Mitch Messing of Ishpeming had eight tackles.
The Lions got a pair of touchdown passes from Ronald Brown to Darrion Robinson and Jacob Price while Jaavaid Love added two fourth-quarter scoring runs as Finlandia took the lead for good late in the first half.
