The seventh annual Marquette Trail 50 Ultramarathon featured five races over the weekend at starting points in Marquette and Marquette Township. In the first photo, youngsters mass at the start of one of the children’s races held at Tourist Park in Marquette on Friday evening. Kids had the choice of one mile and five kilometer lengths as a prelude to the adults’ 50K, 50-mile and 100K races held on Saturday and starting and ending at the Forestville trailhead in Marquette Township. In the second photo, race director Andrew Grosvenor, right, presents Jeffrey Devries of Grand Rapids with the trophy for winning the 100K, or just over 62-mile, race on Saturday in 13 hours, 34 minutes and 43.9 seconds, about 50 minutes ahead of the runner-up.
