Bowling leagues seek members

MARQUETTE – Marquette County’s two bowling centers are accepting individuals and full and partial teams for fall leagues that are starting soon as most full-season leagues start just after Labor Day.

Red Rock Lanes, the former Country Lanes, in Ishpeming has several types of weekly leagues – mixed men’s and women’s leagues with teams of three, four or five people on Wednesday and Friday nights; men’s-only leagues on Monday and Tuesday nights; and women’s-only leagues on Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening. The center will also continue a Sunday night every-other-week league that includes any combination of men and women.

For more information, call Red Rock at 486-8000 or visit its website at www.redrocklanesandbanquetcenter.com.

Superior Lanes in Marquette Township has mixed leagues with any combination of four or five men and women on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. During the past few seasons, the center has also offered a number of shorter fun leagues that de-emphasize competition with formats that include no-tap and beer- or business-oriented leagues.

For more information, call Superior Lanes at 225-9230 or visit its website at www.wingsandbowling.com.

Both houses also host several weekly senior citizen sessions, instructional clinics and youth leagues.
