MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University’s Olympic Training Site is hosting weightlifters from across the country through Sunday for a training camp.

The campers are being led by NMU coach Vance Newgard and members of the Northern team.

The coaches are focusing on techniques and are giving the athletes a chance to see how NMU resident athletes live and train.

“Our goal is to give athletes not only the opportunity to learn new techniques, but also introduce them to the university and our program,” Newgard said.
