Trujillo, Higgins shine on MGC’s Heritage

MARQUETTE – George Trujillo and Jim Higgins turned in impressive performances during the annual Presidents Cup tournament at the Marquette Golf Club.

Trujillo took the Handicap Division and the Cup championship Sunday on the Heritage Course. He followed Saturday’s 66 with another 66 in the second round to finish with a 132 for the tourney.

Jim Zorza carded a 69 Sunday to place second with a 141, while Ton Robinson shot a 71 Sunday for a 144 total and third place.

Higgins, meanwhile, claimed the Scratch Division crown. A 72 Sunday, combined with a first round 74, gave him a 146 total and a one-stroke win over four other golfers.

Those players and their scores were: Dennis Hruska, 76-71-147; Rich Koskey, 73-74-147; Bob Luke, 76-71-147; and Dan Nygard, 72-75-147.
