Stein wins state golf qualfier
MARQUETTE – Houghton High School golfers Gunnar Stein and Wyatt Liston shared medalist honors with 81 on Saturday at a qualifying event held for the Michigan Amateur Championship to be held in the Detroit area later this month.
Due to just one spot being available, the pair went to a sudden-death playoff where Stein came out on top at the tournament held at the Marquette Golf Club’s Greywalls course.
Stein gets to play in the state tourney to be held at Plum Hollow Country Club in Southfield from June 22-26.
