Patron, Christensen knock ‘em out of park for Phil and Lee’s

NEGAUNEE — Karlie Patron and Nicole Christensen put on their power-hitting shoes and cranked home runs over the fence to lift Phil and Lee’s to an 8-4 victory over Congress Pizzas in a Class A game in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on Wednesday. Phil and Lee’s held onto the top spot in “A” with the win with a 9-1 record as second-place River Rock is 9-2 and Congress Pizzas dropped to third at 8-3. Hill, McLaughlin homer in River Rock’s victory

ISHPEMING — Alyssa Hill and Delaney McLaughlin both homered to help River Rock squeak past Dave’s Collision/Jack’s 17-16 in a Class A game played in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on July 29. In this, the 10th week of the summer season, Melanee Maddock hit a triple for Dave’s/Jack’s.
