Claim Your Seat Campaign lets NMU fans put name on a Berry seat

MARQUETTE -- Fans of Northern Michigan University hockey have a new, hands-on way to become part of the Wildcats' 50-year history during the current season.
You can "claim" your seat and make your mark on the program by having your name -- or the name of someone special to you -- placed on a seat in the Berry Events Center, home of the NMU team since 1999.
For a $1,000 gift, you can join the Claim Your Seat Campaign by having your name or tribute placed on an eligible seat inside the arena and in so doing, supporting the Wildcats' hockey program and help provide the resources needed to continue building Northern's hockey tradition.
This offer extends through the current hockey season, then at the close of the season, names and tributes will be placed on designated seats, creating a visual reminder of the people who make Wildcat hockey special.
The goal is have all the seat recognitions in place for the start of the 2027-28 hockey season.
NMU notes that participation in the Claim Your Seat Campaign doesn't include purchase of NMU hockey season tickets. Those are separate and that transaction must be handled independently through the NMU Ticket Office.
The university also said that seat recognition is subject to change, with NMU reserving the right to remove, relocate, modify or discontinue this program due to renovations, seat replacement, changes to the facility or seating configuration, among other things.
The university also reserves the right to remove or discontinue seat recognition if the donor or donor's name may compromise the public trust or reputation of NMU or NMU Foundation.
