MARQUETTE -- Senior Allie Barlow has earned Northern Michigan University its first Player of the Week honor in volleyball this season from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
She was named GLIAC Setter of the Week on Monday after totaling 92 assists in eight sets in a split of two matches last week.
Barlow rolled up a season-high 61 assists in the Wildcats' five-set home victory over Michigan Tech on Sept. 22, then added 31 more in a three-set loss at nationally ranked Grand Valley State on Saturday.
She also totaled 23 digs in the two matches, reaching double digits each time, along with five kills, two service aces and two blocks.
Recently she surpassed 3,000 career assists, just the eighth NMU player all-time to achieve that feat.
In conference rankings, she leads in GLIAC matches both with her 260 total assists and 10.83 per set, while ranking No. 2 in those categories when looking at all matches, totals of 556 in all and 10.3 per set.
Additionally, she's No. 9 with 0.42 aces per set, actually tied for that spot with teammate Liesl Haugen, in conference matches, also ranking No. 8 in aces at 0.35 per set in all matches.
Barlow was named to the GLIAC Second Team at the conclusion of each of the last two seasons, totaling 1,088 assists to rank No. 3 in the league in 2025. Also last year, she won Academic All-Region accolades from the College Sports Communicators.
The Wildcats host GLIAC foe Wisconsin-Parkside at Vandament Arena at 5 p.m. Friday, then hit the road for a half-dozen matches, not returning home again until Friday, Oct. 23, vs. undefeated Ferris State.
