MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University Athletic Department will host its first Blue Line Luncheon of the hockey season at lunchtime Friday in Marquette.

Half of the head coaches in the Wildcats’ hockey history will address attendees at Slabz Bar & Grill, which is located inside the Ramada Inn on West Washington Street.

Those two coaches are new head coach Dave Shyiak and NMU’s original head coach, Rick Comley, who is currently the school’s athletic director.

Doors open at 11:45 a.m. with NMU saying lunch will be served promptly at noon and the program beginning at 12:15 p.m. Advance purchase of tickets is encouraged as space is limited.

Tickets cost $25 per person for a lunch catered by the newly opened Slabz Bar & Grill.

Only one other Blue Line Luncheon is scheduled this season — Friday, Jan. 10, back at the Ramada.
