NEGAUNEE — It was appropriate that manager Jason Siik led Negaunee in West PAC awards just like he guided his Miners during the spring high school baseball season.

Siik was named Coach of the Year in the conference as the league’s three special awards were divvied up among three schools.

Seven Negaunee players also earned all-league honors as did one from Westwood in this league that in baseball also includes Houghton, Hancock, Calumet and Iron Mountain.

A trio of Miners were named to the West PAC First Team — senior Evan Gauthier, junior Carsen Belanger and sophomore Owen Cardinal.

Three more from the Negaunee diamond earned league Second Team laurels with senior Braiden Noskey, junior Jack Siik and sophomore Aiden Steele.

And Miners senior Mason Banfield and Westwood junior Logan Cox earned Honorable Mention status.

The league’s other special award winners were Hancock senior Bryce Hanner as Player of the Year and Iron Mountain senior Niko Burgoon as Pitcher of the Year.
