MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University senior and all-time lacrosse goal scorer Minnie Bittell has been named to the 2024 Senior All-Star game by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association.

There are games for NCAA Divisions I, II and III and Bittell has been — in an interesting twist — named to the South Team in D-II.

The all-star games will be held at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, at Tierney Field on Saturday.

The Division II game will be the middle game at 12:30 p.m., with the D-I game at 10 a.m. and D-III contest at 3 p.m.

The IWLCA announced that these games will not be available on livestreaming over the internet.

Bittell is one of 22 players on the South team and also one of eight attackers on her squad.

Bittell lead the GLIAC in every major offensive category in this past season recently completed and was eighth in the nation with 72 goals and 157 shots, 10th with 108 points and 8.35 shots per game, 11th with 3.79 goals per game, and 14th with 5.68 points per game.

Several weeks ago, she was named First Team All-Region by the IWLCA, one of 128 lacrosse players in Division II honored.

Among her teammates in the all-star game are two players each from the University of Indianapolis and 2024 NMU foe Quincy, while on the North team are three players from GLIAC champion Grand Valley State.

The South team will be coached by Kutztown head coach Kristen Nicholson, with the North mentored by Bentley head coach Taylor Bastien.
