MARQUETTE — Five members of the Northern Michigan track and field/cross country teams have been named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic District Team..

Meghan Langworthy, Ahna Larson, Sydney Romps, Emily Sterling, and Ellyse Wolfrath were honored for the Wildcats.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Langworthy is a junior from Big Rapids, Michigan, holding a 3.82 GPA in sports science. Larson is a sophomore and has a 3.85 GPA in biology and is from Gladstone. Romps, from Canton, Michigan, is also a biology major, and holds a 3.94 GPA as a redshirt sophomore. Sterling is a junior from Boyne City, Michigan, studying forensic biochemistry with a 3.71 GPA. Wolfrath, a native of Hortonville, Wisconsin, is a sophomore in nursing holding a 3.73 GPA.
